Here is a short collection of frequently asked questions received by us on the Discord server. You may be able to find the solution to your problem in a shorter time here, without having to ask for support.

Q: Why is it called ChatPlugin?
A: The project started some years ago as a 15 KB .jar plugin that simply changed the chat's format. Over time more features have been added, but the chat modules are still the plugin's core.

Q: How can I setup custom ranks?
A: Please follow the guide at Modules/Ranks/Setup. Note that every rank requires a specific permission; example: chatplugin.ranks.vip is associated to the VIP rank by default.

Q: What does the error "MaxMind username is empty" mean?
A: It means that you have not finished setting up the IP lookup module. Please follow the guide at Modules/IP lookup/Setup.
